Robin Mulligan Ltd provides intensive full and part-time CPC courses, covering the combined syllabus for National and International Transport Management. These courses take place in Dublin, Cork, Cavan and Ashbourne.
The course prepares candidates for the CPC examination which is held by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
The course is designed for owners/managers who must obtain a Transport Management CPC qualification in order to act as transport manager for a Road Haulage or Road Passenger transport business.
The course covers the following areas:
The subject covers all the areas necessary for setting-up, operating and maintaining a transport business on an effective and continuous basis. Students will study accountancy, finance, business administration, social legislation, computer applications, marketing (all of, which are given a transport "bias").
Students will also study subjects directly related to transport such as access to the profession of transport operator, the law of contract as it applies to the carriage of people or goods, tachograph legislation, regulations relating to height, weights, general dimensions and selection of vehicles, general information relating to optimisation of vehicle usage, driving licence regulations.
Further subjects include international conventions and agreements, and other items relevant to transport operators working internationally such as route planning, safety and accident procedures.
The Examination comprises two papers, a morning and afternoon paper. Each paper is 2.5 hours duration.
